Michigan Retro Game Expo (MRGE)
Hosted by MRGE, LLC at Delta Hotels by Marriott Kalamazoo

1. Acceptance of Terms

By attending, exhibiting, sponsoring, or participating in any capacity at the Michigan Retro Game Expo (“MRGE”), you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms & Conditions. These rules apply to all attendees, vendors, sponsors, guests, and participants. Acceptance of these Terms constitutes a full waiver of liability against MRGE, LLC, its members, and Delta Hotels by Marriott Kalamazoo and its members.

2. Compliance with Laws

All participants must comply with local (Kalamazoo County, Michigan), state, and federal laws, including but not limited to:

  • Child Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) compliance

  • All applicable privacy laws

  • All health and safety codes, building/fire regulations, and occupancy limits

  • Failure to comply will result in immediate removal without refund and may include referral to local authorities.

3. Liability & Hold Harmless

MRGE, LLC and its members, as well as Delta Hotels by Marriott Kalamazoo and its members, shall not be held liable for any personal injury, property damage, theft, loss, or other incident before, during, or after the event. All attendees, vendors, sponsors, and guests agree to hold harmless MRGE, LLC, its members, and Delta Hotels by Marriott Kalamazoo and its members from any and all claims, actions, damages, or liabilities.

4. Responsibility of Attendees

Attendees are responsible for their personal belongings. MRGE and the venue are not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged property.

5. Minors

Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian at all times. Parents and guardians are solely responsible for the safety and conduct of minors under their supervision.

6. Alcohol Policy

The Michigan Retro Game Expo is an alcohol-free event. Alcohol consumption is strictly prohibited in all event spaces and surrounding property, except in the designated hotel bar. Violations result in immediate removal without refund.

7. Refund, Return & Ticketing Policy

  • All ticket sales, vendor fees, sponsorships, and merchandise sales are final.

  • No refunds will be issued except in the case of a force majeure event.

  • Tickets are non-transferable. Resale, reassignment, or attempted transfer of entry credentials will void admission.

8. Removal & Termination of Access

MRGE reserves the right to remove or refuse entry to any individual for violations of these Terms & Conditions, disruptive behavior, or failure to comply with event or hotel staff instructions. No refunds will be issued in such cases.

9. Photography & Media Policy

By entering the event, you grant MRGE, LLC and its authorized media the right to record, photograph, or film you. These images may be used for promotional, archival, or marketing purposes without compensation.

10. Prohibited Items

The following are not permitted:

  • Weapons (real, functional, or dangerous replicas)

  • Firearms, ammunition, explosives, fireworks

  • Hazardous materials, illegal substances, or alcohol

  • Counterfeit/bootleg merchandise

  • Items prohibited under local, state, or federal law

  • Violations will result in removal and potential referral to authorities.

11. Costume & Prop Policy

Cosplay is welcome; however, all costumes and props must adhere to safety rules:

  • Foam weapons and props are permitted if they are lightweight, non-functional, and do not pose a danger to others. Oversized or excessively heavy props may be restricted at staff discretion.

  • Replica weapons must be non-functional, peace-bonded, and inspected by staff upon entry.

  • Oversized props must not block aisles, exits, or impede movement of guests.

  • No projectiles, pyrotechnics, sharp-edged, or real weapons are permitted under any circumstances.

  • MRGE reserves the right to deny or confiscate any costume prop deemed unsafe or inappropriate.

12. Health & Safety Disclaimer

Attendees, vendors, and sponsors assume all risk of injury or illness by attending MRGE. Compliance with all local, state, and federal health and safety codes (including fire marshal directives and venue safety rules) is mandatory.

13. Code of Conduct

  • All attendees must act respectfully toward others.

  • Harassment, discrimination, bullying, or disruptive conduct will not be tolerated.

  • Violators will be removed without refund.

14. Pets & Animals

No pets or animals are permitted except for service animals as defined under the ADA. Emotional support animals are not permitted.

15. Noise & Behavior

  • Excessive noise, disruptive music, or activities interfering with others are prohibited.

  • Solicitation is only permitted in designated vendor areas.

16. Glitter & Confetti Policy

Delta Hotels by Marriott Kalamazoo enforces a strict no glitter/confetti rule.

  • Any violation will result in a $2,000 cleaning fee assessed by the venue.

  • Payment of the fee is the responsibility of the violating attendee, vendor, or sponsor.

  • MRGE, LLC is not responsible for this fee.

17. Lost & Found

Event staff will do their best to help you find anything lost.
Lost items should be reported to event staff. MRGE and the venue are not responsible for lost items, and unclaimed items may be disposed of after the event.

18. Accessibility (ADA Policy)

MRGE, LLC and Delta Hotels by Marriott Kalamazoo are committed to providing an inclusive and accessible event. Accommodations will comply with all local (Kalamazoo County, Michigan), state, and federal ADA requirements. Requests for reasonable accommodations should be made in advance of the event.

19. Waiver of Liability

By attending MRGE, you acknowledge and agree that:

  • Participation is voluntary and at your own risk.

  • You fully release and waive any claim of liability against MRGE, LLC, its members, Delta Hotels by Marriott Kalamazoo, and their staff.

  • This waiver covers injuries, illness, property loss, or any other incident before, during, or after the event.

20. Amendments

MRGE, LLC reserves the right to amend or update these Terms & Conditions at any time without prior notice. Updated terms will be posted at https://www.mrgexpo.com/terms-conditions.
